Eugenie “Janie” (LeBlanc) M. Brochu, 89, of Yale St., died Friday, July 22, 2022, in the loving care of her family and in her home in South Hadley, MA. Born on March 18, 1933 in Springfield, MA to Estelle (Fournier) and Jean-Marie LeBlanc. She attended Cathedral High School. Her beloved husband of 52 years, Donald, predeceased her. She was a member of St. Theresa Church in South Hadley, MA. She leaves her children David Brochu and Thomas Brochu of South Hadley, MA, Steve Brochu of Swanzee, NH, Jennifer (Joseph) Schraffa of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Deborah Moriarty (Timothy) of Chicopee, MA and their two sons Tyler and Kyle Moriarty. In 2009, "Janie's" daughter Donna (Gerald Potvin) predeceased her. She was loved by everyone she met and enjoyed playing cards with family, going to Bingo with the ladies, and lunches with her predeceased sisters, Therese Couture of Belchertown, MA and Madeleine Lenz of Amherst, MA. The calling hours will precede a funeral on Thursday, July 28th at 9:00 am Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St, South Hadley, MA 01075 and followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Theresa's Church, South Hadley at 11 a.m., and burial in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery in Chicopee. Contributions in “Janie’s” memory to either the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org or to the Lupus Foundation, www.lupusne.org would be appreciated.
