Eva M Moffitt

On December 5, 2021, Eva Mae Moffitt got her wings and went to walk with the angels. She was 80 years old. She was born to the late Walter and Afton Jeffries on October 6, 1941. Eva was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wayne O. Moffitt, of 37 years. She is survived by her brothers, Walter Jeffries of Sartell, MN and Kenneth Jeffries of Spokan, WA, and her three children, David W. Moffitt of Harrodsburg, KY, Penny R. (Glenn) Doan of Williamsburg, KY, and Patricia J. (Fred) Danforth of Bradenton, FL; five grandchildren, Nathaniel D. Moffitt, Courtney Moffitt, Ashley N. (Matt) Barker, Thomas S. Cox and Lauren A. (Justin) Goins; and four great grandchildren, who made the entirety of her world. Eva was a graduate of Rockfalls High School in Rockfalls, IL, where she lived and met the love of her life, Wayne. She was a devoted wife and mother, working in the home until the children were older and then gave of her spare time working at Shakertown at Pleasant Hill, KY; The Lexington Children’s Museum in Lexington, KY;and then eventually retiring from Mayfair Village in Lexington, KY. Though her children lived in different cities and States, she would visit daily by phone, visits and the greatest invention ever “The Portal.” Though she would need a new portal every year, they were used for conferencing in with her daughters for hours at a time watching monkey videos, late night movies together and laughing uncontrollably from her gift of humor. She enjoyed trivia, board games, crossword puzzles, and staying up all night reminiscing with her daughters. She was an avid traveler with many trips with her daughters to Jamaica, Mexico, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, as well as spending time Alaska and Spain. During her travels, she collected many relics to be added to her “happy room” that displayed all her treasured photosof family, gifts and memorabilia.
