Evangeline "Vangie" T. Sandoval
September 17th, 1951 - January 17th, 2020
Evangeline T. "Vangie” Sandoval of Greeley, CO, went to meet the Lord on January 17, 2020 at Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, CO. Vangie was born in Mora, New Mexico on September 17, 1951 to Macendonio and Emilia (Martinez) Sandoval. From the age of 2 Vangie was raised by her step-father, Jose A. Sandoval. The family moved to Colorado in 1963 where she graduated from Greeley Central High School and then earned her Associates Degree from Aims Community College. Vangie worked for Weld County for 39 years as an Adult Case Manager for the Special Programs Unit. She had a very caring and loving work family. She was a Victim Advocate for the Greeley Police Department and was recognized as a " Woman of Courage” by the friends of a Woman’s Place in October of 2006. Vangie was a member of the First Community of Our Lady of Peace Church. The members of her community provided comfort in her final days with lots of love and prayers. Vangie also taught religious education for several years. She had numerous God Children that loved her dearly. She enjoyed time with her family, especially her grand kids and great-grand kids, she spent countless hours watching the play sports. Vangie created numerous memories during her trips to Alaska; boating and fishing with her family. She was an avid Nuggets fan and loved Carousels. Vangie’s beautiful smile and generous heart will be missed by her family, friends and co-workers. She is survived by her daughters, Gina Marquez (Craig) of Anchorage, Alaska, Julie Soto (Gerardo) of Greeley and Crissy Colbeth (Bill Moeller) of Grand Junction. Also 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous brothers and sisters. A visitation will be held at the Adamson Life Celebration Center on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Greeley on Wednesday January 22, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Linn Grove Cemetery.
