Evelyn M. Arnold

Evelyn M. Arnold, age 75, passed away on Sunday, April 15th 2012. She was born in Brooklyn, New York March 24, 1937 and has been a resident of Belen since 1972. Since retiring from Walmart she spent her time spinning yarn and knitting hats for newborn babies and socks for family, friends and anyone with cold feet. Evelyn was a founding member of the Fiber to Finish guild. She loved all creatures big and small especially her cat Raggs. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother. Evelyn is survived by her son, Kevin Elman and his wife Sharon of Greeley, CO; daughter, Barbara Abchal of Lincoln City OR, daughter, Diana Mercado of Blackshear Georgia; sister, Barbara of Toms River NJ and sister Mary of California. A Memorial Service led by Pastor Don DuBerry to celebrate Evelyn's life will begin at 11:00 on Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Belen Christian Church, 421 S. 11th St. followed by a luncheon to share memories and our love for her.
