Evelyn May Shelley Bard Mrs. Bard was born on September 2, 1914 and passed away on Monday, March 14, 2011. Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Charles Bard. She was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker as well as a fine portrait artist. Mrs. Bard studied art after graduation from Pleasantville High School in New York State. She had been an active participant in the Senior Scholars for many years and was a kind helpful friend and neighbor to all who knew her. Survivors include her daughters, Karen Shelley Bard and Gretchen Shelley Bard as well as her granddaughter, Amanda Montford and her husband, Rev. Kevin Montford and three great-grandsons, Andrew, Matthew and Ryan Montford. A celebration of her life will be held at the family home Sunday, March 20, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region, 1420 East Seventh St., Charlotte, NC 28204 would be welcome.
