Evelyn M. Dykhouse
November 8th, 1920 - August 7th, 2009
Dykhouse, Evelyn "Eve" Marie, was born November 8, 1920 in Little Rock, Iowa. She left us peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2009 in Tucson. An only child growing up in the Midwest, Eve attended Drake University in Iowa, and then settled in Chicago for her career in pharmaceuticals. Eve moved to Tucson in the 1980's to enjoy retirement with her extended family. Always and avid fan of the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs, Eve also enjoyed following the Arizona Diamondbacks. Eve is survived by her brother, Vance Dykhouse, his wife, Judy and their family residing in Kansas City, MO; her extended family and caregivers Rick and Terri Faust and sons Ryan, Adam and Justin of Marana, Susan and Jack Moberg of Green Valley, Debbie and Jay Wright of Tucson, Sande and Robert Vickroy of Houston, and Nick and Sandralyn Faust of Dallas; and Barbara Stover, her dearest college friend of 60 years, in Danville, IL. We will miss her; her intelligent sense of humor, her direct style, and her loving connection with us. We will miss the retelling of stories of our own dear mother, Maxine, and the wonderful holidays and vacations we enjoyed during our growing up years. She always boasted, "I knew you before you were born!" We will miss her. A memorial gathering is planned for later this fall. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local Cancer Society in memory of Eve. Arrangements entrusted to Desert Sunset Funeral Home (297-9007).
