Evelyn Turpin Jordan

Evelyn (Lynn) Jordan passed away at age 98 on May 3, 2024 in Lynnwood, Washington. She was born in March 3, 1926 in Yreka, California. During her lifetime she also resided in Eureka, California, Portland, Oregon and Edmonds, Washington. Lynn was raised on a ranch and attended school in Yreka. After graduating from high school she worked for the US Forest Service office in Eureka, California. In Eureka she met a handsome young reporter for the local paper, named Mike Jordan. He started coming by the Forest Service office frequently and was very interested in Lynn. They married in Eureka. Lynn became a bookkeeper and was a master at keeping business finances in order. She worked at numerous companies as she and Mike moved from Eureka to Berkeley, California, Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington. She attended Portland State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in history. History was her passion and she enjoyed traveling to historical sites in the US and Europe. She is survived by her daughter Melanie Jordan, son-in-law Brian Levy, and grandsons Sam Levy and Ben Levy. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Mike Jordan.
