Evelyn Moore
December 7th, 1929 - November 30th, 2019
Evelyn (Evvie) Moore, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2019 in Gladstone, Oregon. Evelyn was born on December 7, 1929 to Nellie and Harley Newcomb, in their Canby home. Evelyn (Evvie) met her husband, Warren, at the home of neighbors Carl and Rosalia Johnson. Only two months later, they were married in the summer of 1950. This was, actually, a "match made in heaven" since there was little time for courtship--just "I do's". The two shared a wonderful life together over the decades. Evelyn was a devoted Christian and often counseled younger women in her church. She loved to write; she wrote devotional poems and enjoyed singing anything that came into her mind. She is survived by her 4 children, and 4 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Friday January 17th at 1:00pm at Sunnyside Little Chapel of the Chimes. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Oregon Food Bank by bringing a canned food item to the service.
