Evelyn "Louise" Murray

December 24th, 1930 - September 18th, 2012

Evelyn Louise Murray, 81, of Homedale, passed away in her sleep at home on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, following a long courageous battle with cancer and other health issues. Louise was born on December 24, 1930 in Homedale to James L. Mears and Alta H. Orr Mears, with her brother Jim following 2 years later She attended school in Homedale, graduating from Homedale High School at the top of her class. She was crowned Owyhee County Fair queen in 1948, and made a beautiful queen with her gorgeous auburn hair. Louise married Thomas O. Murray on February 15, 1949 at his parent’s home in the Fargo community. To this union were born 5 children, Kooki, Debby, Connie, Tom, and Randy. She spent the next forty years as a bookkeeper for many different banks and businesses, including the family business Murray’s Chevron for 25 years. Louise was known throughout the area for her meticulous accounting skills, along with her beautiful penmanship. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her family, was an avid reader of all types of literature, and thoroughly enjoyed a good card game. Mom was also a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Louise is survived by her children, Kooki Nation, Debby (Bob) Grant, Connie “Red” Trunnell, Tom C. Murray, Randy Murray, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom in 2003, son-in-laws Dan Nation in 2000 and Woody Trunnell in 2008, her parents, and her brother Jim. The family would like to thank Legacy hospice, especially Kevin and Bud, who she became very fond of during the last 3 years, along with many other assistants who provided cares for our mom. We don’t know what we would have done without their wonderful care. At Louise’s request there will be no public service. A private family service will follow in October. Louise will be interred next to her husband in the Marsing-Homedale Cemetery. If roses grow in Heaven Lord, please pick a bunch for me. Place them in my Mother’s arms and tell her they’re from me. Tell her I love and miss her, and when she turns to smile, Place a kiss upon her check and hold her for a while. Because remembering her is easy, I do it every day, But there is an ache within my heart that will never go away. Condolences may be sent to www.flahifffuneralchapel.com Service Information
