Evelyn M. Sayles

Evelyn M. Sayles, of Waukesha, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Nu-Roc Community Healthcare in Blackwell, WI, at the age of 97 years. Evelyn was born in Waukesha on August 26, 1915, daughter of Frederick and Charlotte Scheets. She married Louis Sayles on March 3, 1934. Evelyn was a long time member of Ascension Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking, and in her younger years sewing. Evelyn also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her husband Louis fishing with her cane pole. Evelyn will be dearly missed by her daughter, Sandra (William) Pollack, grandchild, Jill (Jesse) Sykora; great-grandchildren, Nia, Nathan & Nina Rivera and Jesse Rosario; great-great grandchildren, Mercedes Kramer and Kailey Juarez; sisters, Lorraine Kline, Dorothy Hammel and Helen Hill. Evelyn is further survived by other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis; parents, Frederick Scheets and Charlotte (Babcock) Scheets; daughter, Carol Jean, and sons, Louis David and LeRoy Eugene; brothers, Raymond, Edward, Robert, Joseph and Gordon; and sisters, Virginia Kennelly, Frances Ista and Lillian "Mable" Sayles. The visitation for Evelyn will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the 12:00 noon service on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1415 Dopp St., Waukesha, WI 53188. The Reverend Chris Marien will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha.
