Schrade, Evelyn V. 94, of Saint Petersburg, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Lexington Health and Rehab. Evie was born in Danbury, CT, the daughter of Ernie and Sue Gustafson. She moved to Saratoga Springs NY as a supervisor for Espy Manufacturing Company, where she met and married her husband of 54 years, Robert "Bob" Schrade. They had two children, Connie L. Schrade (Alex), and Robert Henry Schrade (Megan); her children from a previous marriage, Roy Schroeder of Danbury, CT, and Joan Hayes of Saratoga, NY; grandchildren Shane, Brittney Danielle, Scott, Jacqueline and A.J. Evie is also survived by two brothers, Ernie and Ralph Gustafson, of Danbury CT. Evie and Bob were proprietors of the popular Gold Lion Tavern in Saratoga. They also worked together at the Saratoga Race Track and Derby Lane Greyhound Track in St. Petersburg, FL. She was a charter member of the Saratoga-Wilton Elk's #161 Ladies Auxiliary and also of the Am Vets, Post 8, St. Petersuburg Ladies Auxiliary. Evie and Bob traveled by car from Maine to California visiting Presidential Libraries, museums, birth and burial places and Presidential Historical Sites. Evie enjoyed sending post cards of their trips to her family and many friends. Interment will be at Saratoga National Cemetery, at a later date. The family wishes to express sincere thanks for the wonderful professional care Evie received at the Lexington Rehab Center, especially Christine, Peggy, Pam, and Phil. A Life Tribute, Gulfport.
