Everett L McBride
November 5th, 1937 - May 9th, 2024
Everett L. McBride, age 86, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away peacefully at home with family on May 9, 2024.
He was born November 5, 1937 to Perl McBride and Nellie (Siebold) McBride in Watonga, Oklahoma.
He graduated from Watonga High School in 1955, and later earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Everett served as an Intelligence Operations Manager in the United States Air Force for 30 years, achieving the rank of CMSGT. His service also included a deployment to Vietnam. His Air Force career was then followed by a 19-year career with Lockheed Martin. Everett was a member of VFW Post 4051, and for many years, faithfully served as a volunteer at the bingo fundraisers. His fellow volunteers and patrons became a second family to him, assisting him in many ways during his later years.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Anne (Cornish), his parents, and his sisters Grace Benson and Joan Gerken.
He is survived by his sons Paul (Wendy) of Omaha, Nebraska; Kevin (Crystal) of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Dean (Debbie) of Soldotna, Alaska; sisters Mae (Jim) Thompson of Watonga, Oklahoma; and Virginia Huhman, of Okeene, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Brandon, Carlene, Stephan, Brenna, Robert, Kristine, Alex, and Aveline, and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The funeral service will be held at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO on Wednesday, May 22nd, at 11:00AM, followed by a burial service at Pikes Peak National Cemetery at 1:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Colorado Springs VFW Post 4051.
