Everett H. Young
November 30th, 1926 - September 14th, 2005
Everett H. Young, Sr., 78, of Union Street, died Thursday afternoon at St. Peter?s Hospital in Albany after a long illness. He was born November 30, 1926, in Amsterdam, New York and was the son of the late Earl and Eva Fonda Young. He was a life long resident of Randall and has lived in Fultonville for two years. He attended both Randall and Fultonville Schools and served his country as a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, stationed in Fort Mead, Maryland. Everett was employed for 12 years at Keymark in Fonda and later worked at the White Mop Wringer in Fultonville for 19 years until his retirement. He was a former member, Assistant Fire Chief and Fire Chief for the Rural Grove Volunteer Fire Department. He also was a member of the Fultonville Reformed Church. Everett loved fishing, hunting and also auto repair. He also had a great love for animals. He is survived by his loving family; his wife of 52 years Betty Springer Young; a son, Everett Young Jr. and his wife Lorraine of Randall; two daughters, Phyllis Tokarowski and her husband Frank of Broadalbin and Janet L. Crockett and her husband David of Fultonville; two brothers, Seymour Young of Amsterdam and Raymond Young and his wife Dorothy of Clarkdale, Arizona; three sisters, Mary Veeder of Randall, Elaine Peterson of Port Orchard, Washington and Evelyn Bornt and her husband Richard of Gloversville; two granddaughters, Tammy Bowdish and her husband John of Charleston and Gabrielle Joy Reed of Fultonville; a great-granddaughter, Brittany Bowdish of Charleston; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 17, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, N.Y. with the Rev. Lois Dodge officiating. Burial will take place in the Maple Avenue Cemetery in Fultonville. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Everett?s memory to the Fultonville Reformed Church, P.O. Box 454, Fultonville, N.Y. 12072.
