Faith Elizabeth Kelleher

Faith Elizabeth Kelleher, age 59, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024, due to complications from Huntington’s Disease in Charlotte, NC. Faith was born on March 25, 1964, in Charlotte, NC, to Esther Winters Kelleher and John Thomas Kelleher. Faith attended several schools in Charlotte and graduated from South Mecklenburg High School. At South, Faith immersed herself in Young Life, Campaigners, Student Council, and her many friendships. Faith was extremely well read and an excellent student. In December of her senior year, she was accepted to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she would spend her next four years. At Chapel Hill, Faith joined the Alpha Delta Pi sorority and studied Political Science. Faith graduated in May of 1986 and moved to Washington, DC, where she would work on Capitol Hill for the next three years. In 1989, Faith was accepted the T.C Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond. While at Richmond, she was invited to join the Law Review and graduated in the top third of her class. After graduation, Faith passed both the Virginia and North Carolina bar examinations. The early portion of her law career focused on Insurance Defense, and later she focused on estate planning matters. In addition to her normal casework, Faith served those who were unable to afford legal representation through court-appointed assignments. Throughout her life, Faith cherished her relationships with family and friends. She never forgot a family member’s birthday or anniversary. She was particularly fond of her nephew and niece and always looked forward to family dinners, weddings, and holiday gatherings. She loved Starbucks coffee, visits to the local farmer’s market, and trips to DC to visit our Aunt Kathy. While Huntington’s Disease took her life, she dealt with it with dignity. She was a breast cancer survivor. She was a doting big sister, proud aunt, and fun-loving cousin. Faith kept up with current events along with her beloved Tar Heels. Faith is preceded in death by her parents, Esther and John, and is survived by her brother, Brendan Kelleher, sister-in-law, Karen Kelleher, nephew, Grant Kelleher and niece, Tori Kelleher, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A private service will be held to honor Faith’s life. Memorials may be made in Faith’s name to HD Reach, 2054 Kildaire Farm Rd. #427, Cary, NC 27518.
