Faith Swoboda
December 25th, 1962 - August 30th, 2024
Faith (Babington) Swoboda of Englewood, Florida, passed away unexpectedly at home on August 30, 2024. She was 61 years old.
Born on December 25, 1962, in Venice, Florida, Faith was the beloved middle daughter of John & Hazel (Muterspaugh) Babington. Faith was a lifelong Englewood resident, graduating from Lemon Bay High School, Class of 1981.
In her younger years she focused on working hard and raising her children alongside her husband John, providing them with a childhood of what mattered most: an abundance of special memories and time spent together.
One of Faith’s biggest loves was her large extended family and the closeness to which they all lived. She made it a point to check in with them regularly and loved their frequent get-togethers to celebrate special occasions, or simply just because.
Faith will be remembered for her wry sense of humor, fierce loving nature and big heart. She touched the lives of all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Faith leaves behind her devoted husband John C. Swoboda, her children, Shannon (Lorenz) Breen and her husband Charles, John C. Swoboda Jr. and Shelby (Swoboda) Williams and her husband David. Her six amazing grandchildren, Emma, Jayden, Charlie, Jacob, Conner and Ava and her siblings, Mary (Babington) Coomer and her husband Michael, Barbara (Babington) Tannehill and her husband Scott, John “Bo” Babington and his wife Tammy, Tony Babington and his wife Kristy. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family and cherished friends.
Faith was predeceased by her parents, John and Hazel Babington, and her son, Justin Lorenz.
Faith’s final wish was to rest eternally beside her son, Justin, who passed away suddenly in 2010. To honor this, family and friends are welcome to attend a funeral Mass in her honor at 10 AM on Friday, October 11, 2024, San Pedro Catholic Church, 14380 Tamiami Trail, North Port, FL.
A celebration of life will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Tannehill Residence, 920 Morningside Drive, Englewood, FL.
