Filippa Colaianni

Colaianni, Filippa, 82, of St. Petersburg passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9, 2017. She was born on November 17, 1934 to the late Frank and Maria (Pavone) Trovato in Valguarnera, Sicily. In 1954, Filippa married Frank Colaianni and in 1970, the family moved to Rochester, NY. Filippa worked as a Seamstress for Hickory Freeman retiring in 1993. Following her retirement Frank and Filippa moved to Florida in 2000. Filippa enjoyed cooking and hosting family holiday gatherings, where she cooked traditional Sicilian food. She is survived by her loving sons, Giuseppe Colaianni (Maria), Robert Colaianni (Dina); brothers, Salvatore Trovato, Anthony Trovato (Mary); grandchildren; Aurora Maynard (Matt), Francesco Colaianni, Fabrizio Colaianni, Nick Colaianni, Zack Colaianni, Jilian Colaianni, Alyia Colaianni; great grandchildren, Marcus Maynard, Matteo Maynard; many extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Filippa was preceded in death by husband of 59 years, Frank Colaianni and sister in law, Giuseppina Trovato. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 11, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. MLK Street St. Petersburg, FL 33704. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 12, 1:30 pm at the St. Raphael's Catholic Church, 1376 Snell Isle Blvd. NE St. Petersburg, FL 33704. Entombment will immediately follow the funeral at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 5233 118th Avenue North Clearwater, FL 33760.
