Filippo Philip Tripolino

TRIPOLINO, Filippo (Philip), age 93 passed away peacefully Friday, May 30, 2014, in St. Petersburg. He was born in Tampa, on August 1, 1920, to Antonino and Andenzia (Romano) Tripolino. Philip enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1942 and proudly served his country while reaching the rank of Boatswain's Mate First Class before being Honorably Discharged in 1946. Having learned the tile and marble trade, he traveled the country on various work assignments whereby he reached the level of master craftsman. Upon retirement, he settled in St. Petersburg, the place he always said felt like home, where he enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Philip was preceded in death by his siblings, Peter, Joe, Mary and Lena, and his grandson Richard T. Tripolino. He is survived by his sons, Philip Tony (Janet), Richard E. (Dawn) and daughter Anita Rossette (David), grandchildren Alisa Brown (Stephen), and Ryan Tripolino, and many loving nieces and nephews. The family gratefully acknowledges the excellent care he received by his physician and staff at the Bay Pines V.A. Hospital and Clinic. The family will have a private memorial service at the Bay Pines V. A. Cemetery.
