Flora Mary Martinez

Flora M Martinez, 93, of Johnstown, Colorado passed away at her home Saturday, May 20, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Flora was born in Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico in 1930 to Eluid and Rumalda (Martinez) Martinez. In March of 1952 Flora married Petrolino “Pete” Martinez in Taos, New Mexico. Flora was a resident of Johnstown, Colorado for 53 years and was proud of her home which she referred to as her “Little Paradise''. Flora spent time as a homemaker, served as President of the Ancianitos De Allegre at the Rodarte Center of Greeley, Colorado and served as President of the Holy Family for St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnstown for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed spending quality time with her family, loved journaling and had a love of history. Flora also had a love of cooking and enjoyed sharing a meal with anyone that entered her home. Flora is survived by her children Anna Martinez, Thomas (Cathy) Martinez, Gale (Manuel) Amaya and Gabriel Martinez, along with her siblings; Cordy Martinez, Cecilia Martinez, Donald Martinez, Robert (Evelyn) Martinez, Patsy (Tim) Martinez and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by many loved ones including her parents, grandparents, her husband Petrolino “Pete” and two daughters; Betty Perez and Grace Martinez. Flora’s Life Celebration will be held at 10:30 a.m. (Date) at Adamson Life Celebration Home. Private family inurnment at the Johnstown Cemetery.
