Florence Irene Bennett

June 8th, 1944 - November 24th, 2012

Florence was born on June 8th 1944, in Julesburg Colorado, to Charles Ray Haag and Edna Lammers Haag. She was the seventh born of nine ornery Haag children. After a hard fought battle with cancer, she passed into eternal rest on November 24, 2012. She attended grade school and high school in Ovid Colorado, graduating as an Ovid Red Devil in 1962. She married her high school sweetheart, Clarence Ray (Butch) Bennett, shortly after graduation. They were married for nearly forty years, until his passing in 2001. Their first child, Robbyn Sue, was born in Colorado in 1964. Shortly after Robbyn’s birth, they moved to Idaho so Butch could begin work with his brother Bill. It was there that two sons: Terry Lynn and Craig Duane, were added to the family. Florence was a homemaker and handler of the administrative duties for the family business, Bennett Construction. She was a devoted matriarch who spent countless hours at ball games and high school rodeos rooting on her kids and grandkids. For the past 10 years, her life was spent with her partner and loving friend Jerry Sexton. She will be forever remembered as the most generous loving mother, grandmother, and sister by her three children and their spouses, Robbyn and Bryon Freeman, Terry and Gloria Bennett, and Craig and Stacy Bennett; Her grandchildren: Jennifer, Kyle, Chance, Porter, Hayden, Jacob, Sara Jo, and Mariana; Her siblings Rex Haag, Estella Lamm, Linda Hiatt, and Jackie Barden. She was preceded in death by husband Butch, her parents, and four siblings. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 29, 6:00-8:00 PM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, 624 Cleveland Blvd, Caldwell. Florence’s Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 30 at 1:00pm at The Oregon Trail Church of God, 23057 Old Highway 30, Caldwell, ID. The interment will be held at Middleton Cemetery, Middleton, ID. Condolences may be given at www.Flahifffuneralchapel.com The family would like to thank all of the relatives and friends who have shown an outpouring of love and support. They ask that in lieu of flowers donations made to the Boise Mobile Vet Center by contacting the VAMC Voluntary Service at 208-422-1176. Service Information

Kim Wood

Robbyn & family, Always, I was made to feel welcome in the Bennett home. It’s with great fondness I remember spending time in Florence’s company, while the grandkids played. Florence left this earth too soon but her influence and generous loving heart will live on within her children and grandchildren for years to come. May your memories of Florence be sweet and many always. With love, Kim Wood
