Florence B. Harris-Parker passed away on December 13, 2023. Florence B. Harris-Parker was the sixth child born to her parents, Effie Rose Weaver Lohman and Daniel Grover Lohman on May 27, 1931 in Byers, Colorado. She grew up mostly on a ranch near Meeker, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Everett, Manford, & Bill, four sisters, Lavonna, Betty, & Dorothy. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Johnny W. Anderson, and second husband Jesse C. Harris, two step-daughters, Nancy Harris, Carol Ann Harris Pior and her husband, Bob Pior. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Billy J. Parker and one daughter, Tracie A. Leighton and husband, Tom; Three grandchildren, Felicia N. Graf and husband Alexis, Edward T. Leighton III and wife Amy, and Ashley Sandoval and husband Dennis; as well as six great-grandchildren: Chloe & Kali Graf, and Gracie, Oliver, Ruby, & Clara Leighton. Also, two step-daughters, Theresa Ann Parker Iglacious and husband, Sandro and Patricia Lynn Parker Calistro and husband, Daniel; Two step-sons, Billy G. Parker, Kenneth W. Parker and wife, Frances. Two step grandsons, Russ Pior and Rod Pior and their spouses. Three step-granddaughters, four step-great granddaughters, and six step-great grandsons; and a sister Janet White. She has many nieces and nephews she loved dearly as well. Florence has lived in Ruidoso Downs, NM for the past fifty + years. She was very active in community work including being a charter member of the Ruidoso Downs Ladies Auxiliary who conducted many fund-raising events to support the Ruidoso Downs community in such projects as building a park and many other village projects. She was a charter member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and very active in its community activities. She was also a member and served many posts of the Ruidoso Masonic order of Eastern Star. She received a plaque of appreciation from the Village of Ruidoso Downs for her community service. She had a passion for people and cared deeply about the needs of every person she knew. A Celebration of Her Life is planned for January 27, 2024 at 3:30p.m. at the Ruidoso Downs Seventh Day Adventist Church, 212 Parkway Dr., Ruidoso Downs, NM.
