Florence Ryan

Florence P. Ryan, 86, of Suntree, Melbourne, Florida, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2013. She was born in New Jersey and lived in Edison and Seaside Park until retiring to Suntree in 1990. She graduated from Perth Amboy High School and received a B.S. in Education from the College of New Jersey. She was a third grade teacher before devoting her life to her family. She was an outstanding cook , especially leg of lamb, and was gifted at creating unique dishes. She loved flowers and plants, enjoyed crafts, painting, singing, and writing poems for family and friends' birthdays. In recent years, she was a regular at bingo at the Wickham Park Senior Center. She was a member of the Suntree Nine-Holers for many years, and traveled with her husband to Ireland and within the U.S. during their retirement. She was a member of St. John's the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. Florence was a strong and independent woman, always beautifully dressed, and battled her Parkinson's disease with grace and spunk. She loved her family beyond measure and was loved equally by them. She was pre-deceased in 2005 by her devoted and loving husband of 56 years Stanley E. Ryan. She is survived by her loving children, Patricia Sullivan and husband William; son Guy Ryan and wife Anne, grandchildren Kelly Andrew and husband Troy, Erin Sullivan, Konnor Ryan, McQuade Ryan, great-grandchildren McKenna, Greyson and Callan Andrew, sister Elenor Siessel, and many other loving family and friends. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00AM, Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Family will receive friends at the Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home, Viera, FL Tuesday, July 16, 2013 from 5 till 7PM. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of flowers, or a donation to the College of New Jersey.
