Florence Elizabeth Trepel

Florence E. Trepel (nee Gockel), of Elkhorn, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2020 at the age of 99. She was born in Lincoln, IL, the daughter of John and Anna Gockel. Florence married the love of her life Herman in October of 1945. Together, they ran the family farm and raised three children. Florence was a devoted Christian and attended Peace Lutheran Church in New Berlin. She loved music and supporting her husband and son’s passion for showing horses. Florence will be deeply missed by her children; Barbara (Dave) Swarthout, Don Trepel, and Terry (Kelly) Trepel; grandchildren, Michele Melsha, David D. (Jessica) Swarthout, and Amanda (George) Schroeder and great-grandchildren, Andrew Trepel Melsha, Riley Swarthout, Cole Schroeder, and Brendan Swarthout. She is further survived by her sister, Dorothy Jacobs, as well as many other extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. The visitation for Florence will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 9:00AM until the time of the service at 11:00AM at Peace Lutheran Church, 17651 W Small Rd, New Berlin, WI 53146. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens.
