Floyd Clemens Floyd Clemens passed in his sleep on November 11th, 2017 at the age of 57 in his home with his wife, Laura, by his side. Floyd Edward Clemens was born July, 26th 1960 in Des Moines Iowa to Jerry and Judith Clemens. He attended high school in Hayward, CA prior to enlisting in the Army at the age of 17. He spent the majority of his enlistment serving abroad in Germany. In 1980, he returned to the states and reconnected with his soon to be wife, Laura Gunby. Floyd and Laura wed the following year in Incline Village, Nevada on January 16th. In August, 1981, they welcomed their first child, Miranda and shortly after followed their son, Jerry in 1982. Three days after Jerry was born they made the decision to follow Floyd’s parents and move their growing family to Veneta, OR. Floyd worked as a forklift mechanic for 20 years before retiring in 2009. During retirement Floyd enjoyed spending time with his family, spoiling his grandchildren, fishing, shooting, riding his motorcycles, collecting antiques and working on the family property. During Floyd’s life, he was the rock of the family. He was a constant presence making sure that the people he loved never needed for anything. He was a loyal man of character and integrity who was greatly valued. He is survived by his loving wife Laura, his daughter Miranda Klahn of McMinnville, his son Jerry Clemens of Harrisburg, his mother Judith Clemens, his sisters Debra and Linda and 4 grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at his home, 25805 Fleck Rd. in Veneta, Sunday November 19th at 3pm
