Floyd Donald Myrick

Floyd D. Myrick Jr. went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, March 17, 2022 in Stockton, CA. at the age of 89 years old. He was born in Coventry, New York on April 5, 1932. He was the son of Floyd D. Myrick, Sr., and Frances Myrick. Floyd was raised in New York on a farm. After high school he went to Zion Bible Institute in East Providence, Road Island, and prepared for the ministry. In 1958 he was ordained as a minister in the Assemblies of God, and pastored many churches in upstate NY: Sydney, Dalton, Attica, and Port Jervis. In 1975 he moved his wife, Josephine (Saullo), and his four children to San Jose, California, where he served in different ministries at Los Gatos Assembly of God for about 13 years. After Josephine passed away in 1989, he worked as a Center Supervisor at Teen Challenge in Watsonville, CA. During his time in New York, and also in California, Floyd was a deer hunter. He also hunted turkey, squirrel, and raccoon, and loved to go fishing. He enjoyed the outdoors and all the beauty that the Lord has provided. In 1992, he married his current wife, Doris. They moved to Jackson, CA. in May, and accepted the pastorate at Bethel Assembly of God Church. They pastored there for 9 years until his retirement in 2001. Since then, they have continued to serve in the area of Seniors Ministry at the church now known as Generation Life Church in Sutter Creek, CA. Floyd is survived by his wife of 30 years, Doris, his sister Dawn Sparks of Oklahoma, his brothers, Kenyon of New York, Richard of Arkansas, and his sister Katherine of New York. He is survived by his children, Donald (Lynn) of Washington, Stephen (Melinda) of Texas, Joy Sandoval (Joel) of Arizona, and Susan Curtis (Curt) of Montana. He also has 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022, at 10 am, at Generation Life Church, 125 Academy Drive, Sutter Creek, CA. In lieu of flowers you are asked to make a donation to Generation Life Church for a memorial to be built in honor of Floyd Myrick.
