Floyd "Dick" A. Naylor
February 8th, 1943 - January 25th, 2020
Dick Naylor was born February 8, 1943 in Decatur City, Iowa to parents Verl L. Naylor and Darlene O. (Smith) Naylor. Dick grew up on the family farm, surrounded by lots of aunts, uncles and cousins until moving with his family to Colorado in 1950. The family moved to Loveland, CO in 1955. He attended school, graduating from Loveland High School with the class of 1961 and later attended North Eastern Jr. College in Sterling, CO. He married Irene (Dolfin) Naylor and had two sons; Scott R. Naylor and Skip A. Naylor. The family moved back to Davenport, Iowa where he was manager for Nickerson Farms Restaurants and was transferred to Springfield, Illinois and later back to Loveland to manage the Nickerson Farm Restaurant. After leaving Nickerson Farms, he was a partner in a successful sub-shop and also worked for Frito-Lay. He was also co-owner of Harmony Auto Sales in Fort Collins and became a wholesaler. Dick later married Gloria "Dodie” Naylor and opened up Discount Vac & Sew, a new and used vacuum and sewing center with sales and service. Dick was preceded in death by his parents Verl and Darlene Naylor, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Merlin and Ellen Medinger, brother-in-law Monte Medinger, great nephew Wyatt Dillon and Step-daughter Kim Long. He leaves, to mourn his passing, his wife Dodie of Loveland, CO; his sons and their families Scott R. Naylor of Anchorage, AK and Skip A. Naylor (Alicia) of Wasilla, AK; grandchildren Kressa Naylor (Danny), Austin (Aaron) Mahan and Trevor (Catherine) Naylor of Wasilla, AK; step-children Doug Olson (Eileen) of Orleans, NE, Shelly Gray (Brian) of Holdrege, NE. Craig Olson (Kelly) and Angela Bain of Loveland, CO; son-in-law Gary Long of Atlanta, NE and Travis Bain of Brighton, CO; step-grandchildren Jeremy Olson (Gina), Chase Olson (Jessica), Chelsie Patterson (Eddie), Michaela Parrish (John), Amanda Gray, Zachary Gray, Lacy Tennant (Kelly), Whitney Wicke (Ryan), Jordan Wood (Jer), Lindsey Gonzales (Sergio) and Sidney Olson (Marco). Dick is also survived by his sister Corie Roberts (Everette) and many great grandchildren and special nieces and nephews and their families; as well as brother-in-laws Bernie Medinger (Gwen) and Steve Medinger (Maybell Lea). A memorial services will be held at the Loveland Elk’s Lodge Sunday, February 23, 2020, 1:00 P.M. with a reception at the Elk’s Lodge following services.
