Frances L. Allen
July 23rd, 1919 - December 12th, 2015
Frances L. Allen, 96, passed away peacefully Saturday at the River Ridge Living Center. Born in Hoboken, NJ on July 23, 1919, the daughter of the late Anthony and Rose Barauskas Ligmal, she lived in Amsterdam most of her life. Frances was employed as an office manager for the law offices of the late Atty. Floyd J. Reinhart and continued to manage the Reinhart Foundation until the age of 90. She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church. Frances and her husband George enjoyed travelling and were excellent gourmet cooks. They enjoyed a very happy life and cared for her mother Rose until George's passing in 1989. Rose died in 1991. She was a loving and caring aunt to nieces Rita Manginelli, Mary Ann Marcotte, Jane Moran, Dolores Fraim and Sharon Cervanka; as well as many grandnephews, nieces and cousins including Raymond (Theresa) Jurevicius and Fran's travel companion Regina Cherba. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday at 11:00 am at St. Stanislaus Church, 50 Cornell St. The Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis, celebrant. Interment to follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery. A calling hour will be held at the church preceding the Mass beginning at 10:00 am. Memorials may be made in her name to St. Stanislaus Church. Her care has been entrusted to Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue.
