Frances Brown Longtime Durham resident, Frances Virginia Brown passed away surrounded by her family on Mar. 5, 2016 in Chico, CA at the age of 81. She was born on Sep. 1, 1934 in Fort Myers, FL to Raymond and Victoria Molter. Frances attended St. Frances Xavier Elementary School, and graduated from high school in Fort Myers in 1952. She went on to graduate from St. Vincent School of Nursing, in Jacksonville FL. on Sept. 4, 1955 where she was elected Ms. St. Vincent and received the "General Excellence in Nursing" award. She married her sweetheart, Raymond Alfred Brown on December 27, 1955, in Fort Meyers FL. After their move to California, she worked as a nurse at Enloe Hospital for 27 years. Frances loved singing, crocheting, watching baseball games, cheering for the Giants, and spending time with family and friends. She was a proud member of Our Divine Savior Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America and the Eagles Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Raymond Brown; brothers, Joseph and George Molter, and sister, Marie Grasso. She leaves behind two sisters, Bernice Garcia of Fort Myers, and Dorothy Hunt of Yakima, WA; Six children, David (Debbie ) of Anchor Point Alaska, Neal of Hamilton City, Theresa Mihalyi (Tom) of Wheatland, Patty Brown-Baumunk (Bob) of Santa Rosa, Liz Kyle (Rick) of McArthur, Ray (Nancy)of Eugene OR; grandchildren Zachary Brown, Steven, Michael, and Victoria Mihalyi, Jake and Brad Kyle, Jason Brown, Stephanie Sarris; and 11 great grandchildren. Vigil services will be held on Fri. Mar. 11, 2016 at 5pm with a rosary at 7pm at Brusie Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held Sat. Mar. 12 at 12pm at Our Divine Savior Church followed by burial at Glen Oaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in care of Brusie Funeral Home.
