Frances B. Ryan

"Chicopee-Frances B. (Amberlock) Ryan, 95, previously of Vadnais St., passed away November 1, 2009 at Hadley at Elaine Care & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Springfield, MA on December 3, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Stella (Petkus) Amberlock. Frances has lived in Chicopee since 1948, previously residing in Springfield. In 1978, she retired from the Chicopee School System, where she worked as a clerk. She was a communicant and very active in St. Anne's Church in Fairview and enjoyed traveling all over the world, sewing, and was a social butterfly. Frances was predeceased by her husband George F. Ryan in 1986 and is survived by her son Richard Ryan and his wife Christine of Granby along with 9 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was also predeceased by her son Robert in 2003 along with her siblings Helen Hannon, Mary McMullen, John and James Amberlock. Friends and family may gather at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5th at the Beers & Story S.Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St. (Rte 116) to process to St. Anne's Church for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Liturgy. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Chicopee. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday Nov. 4th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Donations may be made in her memory to Alzheimer's Assoc. Western MA Division, 59 Bobala Rd., Holyoke, MA 01040. "
