Frances "Fran" Trulson
February 26th, 1926 - November 27th, 2013
Frances "Fran" Rose Trulson, 87, longtime resident of Salinas, passed away on November 27, 2013 in Salinas. She was born on February 26, 1926 in Colorado City, Texas. Fran grew up and enjoyed all her youth in Texas, where she attended school and graduated from Texas University in Lubbock. She then worked with the U.S. Army health division for over 33 years. In 1952, Fran met the love of her life, Jim Trulson, at the Presidio in San Francisco, California. They married in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1954. She traveled with him wherever he was stationed, until his retirement and then settled in Salinas, California in 1973. They shared many friends along the way. Jim preceded her in death in 1977. Fran was very close to her nephew, Frank Trulson, of Florida, He would visit her often and she would visit him as well. She also had a friend, Candy Scanfi, of Los Angeles, whom she fondly called her "adopted daughter". Fran extends personal "thanks" to Dr. Rebecca Abundis and Dr. Peyman Haghighat of Los Palos Oncology and her home caregiver and friend, Barbara Mounes. To all of Fran's friends, she wishes to say " Here's a Big Goodbye and have a Good Life, see You Later!" At Fran's request, no services will be held. Cremation has taken place and an Inurnment will follow at the Garden of Memories 850 Abbott St. Salinas, CA 93901.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
