Francesca "Betty" Sandoval
October 15th, 1936 - November 17th, 2017
Francesca (Betty) Sandoval was welcomed into heaven at the age of 81 on Friday morning, November 17, 2017. She was born in Alameda, New Mexico, on October 15, 1936. She graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1954 and soon thereafter moved to Los Angeles, California, to start an exciting life. She attended the City College and then the Valley College in Los Angeles, California, where she studied journalism and radio and television broadcasting. She was a writer, host, and producer for a cable television show and a radio show where she discussed nutrition and topics related to health. She worked for Warner Brothers Studios from 1977-1997; as a film production coordinator and assistant to producers, directors, writers, including television producer Walter Grauman. She also worked for NBC, CBS, and ABC Television Studios. Movie Studios where she also worked included Universal, MGM, United Artists, and 20th Century Fox. She met many television and movie stars in these positions. She attended several parties and ceremonies with Hollywood celebrities. She moved back to Albuquerque for good in 2000 and continued writing short stories. She was preceded in death by her parents Blas and Benina Sandoval; her four sisters Mabel Bates; Dolores and husband Joseph Gonzales; Pearl, husband Joe Cotitta; nephew Rob Cotitta; niece Debbie Malden; Angie and husband Joe Carrillo; and brother Ernest (Bobby) Sandoval. She leaves behind nieces and nephews which include Anna Hasenbank; Cynthia and husband Ron Hart; Stephen and wife Marcella Carrillo; Joe and wife Mary Kay Gonzales; Martin and wife Marilyn Gonzales; nephew Randall Pierce; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo Blvd., NE, Albuquerque, NM.
