Francesco "Frank" Cocca

Mr. Francesco "Frank" Cocca, 87, of Corinth, NY, formerly of Amsterdam, passed away Thursday March 1, 2018 at Glens Falls Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Amsterdam on January 2, 1931 a son of the late Pelligrino and Angelina De Conno Cocca. Frank as a child and young man would be around his Dad who owned and operated the former Peter Cocca's Shoe Repair in Amsterdam. Mr. Cocca was a resident of Amsterdam for many years. He was placed in the Rome State School in 1980, Frank later transferred to the Wilton Developmental Center, then went on to the Sweet Rd SOIRA in the mid 90's. As he got older he relocated to the Meadow Lane SOIRA at the end of May 2010. He retired from Day Habilitation on 2010. He currently resided at the Corinth NY IRA Home. Frank always enjoyed community activities such as going to baseball games and the movies, shopping and attending church. He also enjoyed music, watching sporting events on tv. He attended church at Our Lady of the Annunciation Roman Catholic Church in Queensbury. Frank is survived by his sister Rosemary Forrest of Amsterdam. Nieces, nephews, great-nieces and cousins survive. He was predeceased also by a brother Theodore Cocca. A Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday March 6, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, with Rev. William Hodgetts presiding. A Calling period will be held prior to the Prayer Service on Tuesday from 1:00 t0 2:00 PM at the funeral home. The Woman's Heralder's Circle will be meeting on Tuesday at 1:30 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Spring in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Amsterdam. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 42 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010 or to Glens Falls Hospital, 100 Park St, Glens Falls, NY 12801.
