Francis Hubbard July 23, 1936 �" December 27, 2008 Age: 72 Residence: Greeley Tribute: Francis Waylan Hubbard was born in Ottawa, Kansas to Francis Henry and Alice Ruby (Alcorn) Hubbard, and graduated from Ottawa High School in 1954. He graduated from Oklahoma Wesleyan University in 1959 (Miltonvale Kansas campus), and married Donna Cockroft in Greeley on August 21, 1959. They moved to Marion, Indiana, graduating from Indiana Wesleyan University in 1962. He pastored Gage Park Wesleyan Church in Topeka, Kansas, then moved to Colorado in 1971 to pastor the Greeley Wesleyan Church and moved the congregation to its present 22nd Street location. He was elected to Kansas District Superintendent and administered 60 Wesleyan churches, as well as serving on the Board of Oklahoma Wesleyan University and the General Board of the Wesleyan Church. After retiring in 1994, they moved back to Greeley where he filled the pulpit at Christian Congregational Church. Francis was a member of Centennial Rotary, and loved assistant coaching basketball at several local high schools. Survivors: His wife of 49 years, Donna Hubbard of Greeley; three children, his son, Greg Hubbard and wife Suzanne of Greeley; daughter, Beverly Hoge and husband Ken of Frisco, Texas; son, Robert Hubbard of Denver; four grandchildren, Ashley and Josh Hubbard; Alyx and Geordyn Hoge; three sisters, Delores Hubbard, Shirley Hubbard, Mary Ann Hubbard—all of Greeley; two half-brothers, Vernon Hubbard of Portland, Oregon, Terry Hubbard of Port Orchard, Washington, and half-sister, Nancy Conn of Bremerton, Washington. Preceded in death by: His parents and half-sister, Connie Basalt. Visitation: Thursday, 5-8 p.m. at Adamson Chapel. Services: Friday, 10 a.m. at Greeley Wesleyan Church, 3600 West 22nd Street. Note: Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to Oklahoma Wesleyan University, and other non-profits to be designated later in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Ave. Greeley, CO 80634.
