Francis James Jones

Francis James Jones (Jim) Francis James "Jim" Jones of Lakewood, Colorado passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the Brookdale Green Mountain Center. Jim was the born January 12, 1930 in Indianola, Nebraska to parents Dominic H. Jones and Iva Irene (Stevens) Jones. Jim served our country in the United States Navy, from 1951 to 1954 on the USS Adirondack. We consider ourselves truly blessed to have had this kind, caring, loving, strong man as our role model to what a man should be. Our father taught us leadership, work ethic, compassion and how to be a father. Dad learned about hard work at an early age growing up in a large family on a farm. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who touched many lives in a positive way. We hear continually about what a wonderful man he was. Our family was so fortunate to have him in our lives as a teacher, provider and protector. We are so grateful and thankful that he provided a life and childhood for us that was so much better and easier than his own. "Thank You Dad" Jim was preceded in death by his wife Yvonne †œBon†� Jones who passed away June 7, 2005. He is survived by his daughter Earlene Jones (Bob White), son Jim Jones (Cristal Jones) and Grandsons Tyler Jones & Adam Jones. A visitation will be held at Aspen Mortuary Lakewood, Co on Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Following Visitation military honors will be rendered at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 Sheridan Blvd., Denver, CO at 1:00 pm, please meet at Staging Area A. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jim's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project or The Dementia Society of America.
