Beers and Story - South Hadley
Francis P. Vivier
November 6th, 1934 - August 11th, 2021
Granby - Francis P. “Fran” Vivier, November 6, 1934 - August 11, 2021. Born and raised in North Brookfield, MA to Ernest and Sylvia (Wine) Vivier, Fran and his wife Gloria (Laflamme) moved to Granby, MA in 1979 and were parishioners of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Upon his retirement from B.F. Perkins Co. in Chicopee, Fran and Gloria owned numerous income properties and operated beauty salons locally. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball and was an avid sportsman, hunting deer with shotgun, bow and black-powder rifle. His love of the outdoors extended to hiking, camping and exploring from New Hampshire’s White Mountains to the rugged coast of Alaska. Fran and Gloria were fixtures in the square-dancing community as active members of the Quabbin Valley Twirlers and hosts of the Northeast Convention. In addition to his beloved wife, Fran is survived by two sisters, Sandra Silverberg (Rob) of TN, and Tina Scarborough of OR. His true pride were his six children by his first wife Judy Pierce of Shelburne Falls: Mike Vivier (Suzanne) of Easthampton, Steve Vivier of Buckeye, AZ, Andy Vivier of Montague, Helen Hurley of Hatfield, Anne Morrison (Scott) of Keller, TX and Jim Vivier (Karyn) of Greenwich, CT, as well as thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren (with an eighth on the way). He also leaves behind stepchildren, Daryl LaFleur, Deirdre Costigan, Dale LaFleur, Donald Reynolds and Bruce Pelletier. He will also be missed by his special, furry friends Winston and Addy. We will miss his gentle presence in our lives. Calling hours are Wednesday, August 18th, 4:00 -7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Funeral Home in South Hadley. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Thursday, August 19th at 9:00 a.m. prior to a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Granby. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to a charity of one's choice. For more information visit www.beersandstory.com
