Francis Asbury Winn

Francis Asbury Winn, 89, of Estancia, NM, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017. Francis was born in Colorado City, TX on July 19, 1928 to Annie Dera Wulfjen and Everett Henry Winn. He graduated from Colorado High School and continued on to receive an Animal Husbandry degree from Texas A & M University. In 1951, Francis was drafted into the Army where he served a year and a half in the Korean War. Francis was married to Mary Jan Geer on December 25, 1952; they were married 64 years. Francis spent many years farming and ranching in Colorado City, TX. He and his family moved to New Mexico in 1985 where he worked as a Farm Service Agent for Farmer's Home Administration until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, reading, and bible study. Francis is survived by his wife, Jan of Estancia, NM; his four daughters: Elaine Marricle of Estancia, NM, Patricia Parker and husband Keith of Sweetwater, TX, Carol Ann Vann and husband Jerry of Colorado City, TX, and Tracy Sedillo and husband, Nick of Estancia, NM; his five grandchildren: Kim Parker of Sweetwater, TX, Adam Parker and wife Sarah of Abilene TX, Timothy Sedillo and finance Kirstie of Albuquerque, NM, Daniel Sedillo of Estancia, NM, and Gabriel Sedillo of Santa Fe, NM; and his five great grandchildren: Gavin, Rhianna, Jade, Austin and Lily of Sweetwater, TX. Francis is preceded in death by his father, Everett Winn; his brother, Everett Winn Jr. and his mother, Dera Winn. The burial service will be held at 11:15 am at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
