Francisca Monarrez Medina
June 4th, 1911 - July 21st, 2007
: Francisca Medina-Monarrez was born in 5 de Julio, San Bernardo, Durango, Mexico to Eutikio and Juana (Monarrez) Medina. She grew up there and in 1926 was united in marriage to Donaciano Ugarte Barraza in 5 de Julio. They had a happy marriage and raised fourteen children. He passed away on Nov. 17, 1972. Mrs. Medina enjoyed making tortillas, and was a great cook. She also enjoyed music, getting dressed up and dancing. A hardworking person her whole life, Mrs. Medina was a very good seamstress and also enjoyed quilting. She especially loved her family and the many special times they spent together. Mrs. Medina died Saturday, July 21, 2007 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. Survivors: Four daughters, Juana Ugarte de Rodriguez of Greeley, Mariadel Carmen Ugarte Medina of 5 de Julio, Mexico, Micaela Ojeda and husband Merejildo of Greeley, and Melecia Ugarte-Tapia and husband Porfirio of Greeley; two sons, Rito Ugarte of Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico and Francosco Ugarte, Sr. and wife Margarita of Phoeniz, AZ. She is also survived by fifty grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Preceded in death by: Parents, five daughters and three sons Visitation: 5:00 -7:00 p.m. Monday, July 23, 2007 at Adamson Downtown Chapel in Greeley. Recitation of the Rosary: 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 23, 2007 also at the Adamson Downtown Chapel. All other services will be conducted in 5 de Julio, Mexico. Interment: Municipal Cemetery in 5 de Julio, Mexico.
