Francoise G. Pickrell
February 12th, 1938 - December 4th, 2019
"Belchertown, Francoise G. (Bessette) Pickrell, 81, died on Wednesday, December 4. Born in Holyoke, February 12, 1938, she was the daughter of Raoul and Simone (Houle) Bessette. Fran lived in Chicopee and Springfield for many years before moving to Belchertown 12 years ago. She was a customer service representative for the Springfield Newspapers for a number of years before retiring. Fran enjoyed dancing, music, reading and travelling, but most especially, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by her husband Fred Meyers along with her 5 children, Thomas A. Pickrell and his wife Kathy of Canton, CT, Lynn D. Olejarz and her husband William of East Longmeadow, Laurie J. Crocker and her husband Richard of Sandwich, David J. Pickrell and his wife Silvia of Springfield, and Kelly A. Rose of Florence. She also leaves 5 step children, Tammie Meyers of CT, Carol Baron of CT, Connie Tassielly of RI, Christine Meyers of CT, and Tommy Meyers of CT along with 19 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Additionally, her brother Ralph of Leesburg, FL survives her. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband John Pickrell and her brother Richard Bessette. A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life on Monday, December 9 at 11:00 a.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, 10 Maple St., followed by burial in South Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Organization at www.act.alz.org."
