Frank Joseph Arcesi
August 15th, 1925 - January 24th, 2016
Frank Joseph Arcesi, 90, passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday, January 24, 2016. Frank was born on August 15, 1925 in Fonda, NY to Luigi and Annunziata (Giaquinto) Arcesi. He was a graduate of Fonda High School. Upon graduation, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served from 1943- 1946 as a Tech Sergeant in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. On September 7, 1947 he married Marinda Ann Fallone, who was to become his wife of 64 years until her death in 2011. A carpenter by trade, he built the family home they shared for 55 years Fonda. He resided with his daughter in Scotia for the past five years. Frank was employed as a foreman in the glove industry for over 40 years at Premier Gloves and Fownes Glove Company. Mr. Arcesi was a volunteer fireman and a member of the American Legion. He was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church in Fonda. Besides his parents, Mr. Arcesi was predeceased by his wife, Marinda Ann Fallone, and his brother John Archase. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann Arcesi, of Scotia; one grandson, David Toback of Albany; two sisters-in-law, Mary Nardo Archase and Violet Dake Fallone; and several wonderful nieces, nephews and many cousins in Italy. Special thanks to the two aids who assisted with his care while at home, Sandra G. and Melissa S., and to the wonderful caregivers at both St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam and Baptist Health & Rehabilitation Center in Scotia during his final weeks. Thanks also to Drs. Benoit, Zimmerman, Lee, Miller and Gazi of Amsterdam, who have cared for him during these past many years. Frank was a very special man to all who knew him and will be greatly missed. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, January 28th, 2016 at 12noon at St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic, 26 Broadway, Fonda, NY 12068 with the Rev. Pascal Iannotti as celebrant. Burial with military honors will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours will be held in the morning, prior to the Mass from 9am- 11am at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville.
