Frank Corcoran
June 8th, 1936 - December 7th, 2015
Frank M. Corcoran, 79, of Indian Harbour Beach passed away peacefully on December 7th. Born in New York, N.Y. on June 8th, 1936. He started his career in the mailroom at Wyeth Corporation. Over nearly 50 years with the company, his many roles included vice president of marketing operations and of licensing and acquisitions. During that time, he devoted his nights to higher education and earned a B.S. in marketing from Fordham University and an M.B.A from City University of N.Y. He proudly served in the Marine Corps. Frank always considered his finest contributions to be his three children, Robert Corcoran of Indian Harbour Beach, Monica Corcoran Harel (Gadi) of Los Angeles and Noreen Levitt (Mark) of Orlando—and kept many pictures of his family on hand to share. His wife of 20 years, Kathy, brought fervent love, dedicated care and unparalleled joy to the marriage. He never hesitated to remind “Kathleen”—a warm and smiling fixture on the local volunteer circuit who devotes time to veterans—that he worshipped her. Frank also leaves behind his beloved brother, Jack Corcoran, and his cherished granddaughters Bridget Corcoran and Tess Harel, and many nieces and nephews. While Frank loved fishing, NFL football following economic trends, he was most passionate about local politics and served in many civic roles—including fire commissioner, auditor and councilman—throughout his life. He could champion a cause, and argue for it, like no other. He proudly embraced his Irish heritage. From 2011 to 2013, he led the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Brevard County as president and was honored in 2015 as the Grand Marshall of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Melbourne. Frank dedicated himself to the American Academy of Physician Assistants and a scholarship will be established in his name. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on January 9, 2016 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Indiatlantic, FL. In remembrance, the beautiful, sad lyrics of Frank’s favorite love song feel all the more poignant: “Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling. From glen to glen, and down the mountain side. The summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying. 'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide.” In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to, Frank Corcoran Memorial Scholarship, C/O, AAPA Veterans Caucus, INC, P.O. Box 362, Danville, PA, 17821, 570-271-6692
