Frank J. Havlick
October 26th, 1938 - November 13th, 2022
Mr. Frank Joseph Havlick, age 84, of Gloversville, New York, died on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at his Gloversville home surrounded by his family. He was born October 26, 1938 in Gloversville, the son of Frank and Josephine Havlick. He was a 1956 graduate of Gloversville High School and married his high school sweetheart, Frances Steflik, in November of 1959 who predeceased him in 2011. He finished his apprenticeship and became a plumber / pipe fitter for the Local Pipefitter's Union. In 1966 as their family started to grow, they decided to build their forever home in the town of Johnstown. Together they raised four children: Kathleen (Timothy) Eagan of Castle Rock, Colorado, Colleen (Christopher) Baldwin, Frank (Tania) Havlick, and John (Theresa) Havlick; all of Gloversville and his grandchildren: Tyler (Jessi) Caitlin (Roberto), Matthew, Dalton, Kirsten (Chris), Rileigh, Christine, Ryan, and Nicholas; and his great grandchildren: Olivia, Luke, Leila, Aiden, Collin, Waylon, and Edward; and his siblings: Jeanne (Late John) Gulick, and Richard (Jan) Havlick. He was predeceased by his his parents: Frank and Josephine Havlick. Frank had been a member of the Concordia Singing Society and Pine Tree Rifle Club. He was a strong supporter of the James A Brennan Humane Society and loved all dogs. Frank and Fran started a gun shop in the basement of their home in 1982. In 1984 they purchased the building known as Bud & Betty’s on Route 30 in Gloversville and the official Franks’ Gun Shop was born. Together with their sons they grew the business into the success it is today. Frank really enjoyed fishing and camping, especially sitting by the campfire. He also enjoyed gardening, making his own jelly and pickles, and he is a little bit famous for his homemade wine. He loved his tractor and would create jobs for himself just to use his tractor. He also enjoyed spending time with his family in the backyard, going out to dinner and winning everyone’s dollars at the “LCR” table. The Havlick family will receive relatives and friends for a period of visitation from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A Memorial Service will be held at Walrath and Stewart the following morning, Friday, November 18, 2022 at 11am. Interment will take place privately, at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Rd., Gloversville, NY 12078.
