Frank Mercurio Jr.
August 25th, 1955 - August 4th, 2024
Frank Mercurio Junior, 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Sunday in Monterey, California, the same town he was born and raised. Frank was born on August 25, 1955 to Frank Senior and Gloria Mercurio, and what followed was nearly seven decades of impacting hundreds of friends, family, and members of the community. Frank was a longtime member of the Pacheco Club, the Compari club, a Paisano, was the unofficial cook of Cardinale & Wright Christmas tree lot, and sold insurance to the Monterey community for over 40 years.
Frank was known for a lot of things- namely his quick sense of humor, his cooking, his big heart and his easy nature that welcomed everyone with open arms. Nothing made Frank happier than to make you laugh or to cook you a meal. To know Frank was to feel known by him, and watching the dozens of visitors pay their respects in his final days reconfirmed the reach and impact he had in his life. Frank loved to walk on the bike path, watch the San Francisco Giants, lay in the sun, cook and eat great food, and spend time with his friends and family- especially his three kids and his granddaughter.
Frank was an unforgettable friend and “Goombadi”, an incredible Dad, Nanu, Uncle and Brother, and our only regret is not having more time with him. Frank is preceded in death by his daughter Emily Rose Mercurio, father Frank Mercurio, and mother Gloria Mercurio. He is survived by his three children: Taylor Trovato (Dominic), Frankie Mercurio, Michael Mercurio (Kaitlin), and his granddaughter Remy Rose.
Services will be held Friday August 9th at 10AM at San Carlos Cathedral with a celebration after.
