Aspen Mortuaries - Lakewood
Frank Edward Taggart
October 24th, 1933 - November 22nd, 2023
Frank E. Taggart, 90, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023, in Mesa, Arizona. Frank was born to Victor and Mary Taggart in Colome, South Dakota on October 24, 1933. Frank graduated from Colome High School, entered military service in 1953 and married Marjorie Joan Fischer in 1956. Frank and Joan raised their family in Northglenn, Colorado. Frank retired from his extensive Army and Army Reserves career and his career as the the transportation and maintenance director with the Adam’s County School District 14 in Colorado in 1993. After retirement, Frank and Joan moved to Mesa, Arizona. Frank enjoyed his travels to visit his children and Taggart family reunions in his RV’s. His love of family was steadfast. Frank loved spending summers at the farm of Ron and Kathy Taggart in Winner, South Dakota and Hart Ranch near Rapid City, South Dakota. Frank was serious when he said he would rather travel to see family and friends each year than be rich and famous. Frank was a devout Catholic and spent many hours praying and reading his beloved Bible. It was a rare occasion if Frank missed mass. Frank loved playing poker and loved his backyard space for his woodworking hobby of constructing bird houses and other projects. Frank is survived by his second wife Joan “Cookie” Taggart; his two daughters: Valerie Heyer (Bruce) and Lana Wilcox (Todd); six grandchildren: Kevin Schwickrath (Savannah), Brian Schwickrath, Kaitlyn Chuprun (Matthew), William Heyer, Kylie Wilcox and Spencer Wilcox; and six great-grandchildren: Jordan Schwickrath, Cody Schwickrath, Troy Schwickrath, Jerrik Schwickrath, Jaxin Schwickrath and Elliott Chuprun. Frank was preceded in death by his first wife Marjorie Joan (Fischer) Taggart, his daughter Crystal Schwickrath (Bruce) and all his beloved siblings. In lieu flowers, please consider donating to your local Knights of Columbus.
