Bonaire: Franklin D. Holland, 73, passed away on Monday October 20, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday at the Bonaire United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Bonaire Cemetery. Rev. Lamar Harper and Rev. Jay Tucker will officiate. Mr. Holland was born in Bleckley County to the late Elzie and Ruth Holland. He was a member of the Bonaire United Methodist Church, retired from Robins AFB and a US Navy veteran. He was active in the Bonaire Community for many years in youth sports and the Bonaire-Kathleen Fire Department. Following his retirement he served as a bailiff for the State Court of Houston County. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Marie Holland, three sisters and one brother. Survivors include his wife Emily Kay Holland of Bonaire. Children: Franklin Wanda Holland, Jon Cathy Holland all of Bonaire and Brenda Holland Oliver of Warner Robins. Sisters: Emmie Jo Hosford of Ocala, FL and Mary Madden of Elberton. Five grandsons and two granddaughters. Numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bonaire United Methodist Church Chapel Fund, 144 Elm St. Bonaire, GA 31005 or the Methodist Home for Children and Youth, 304 Pierce Ave., Macon, GA 31204. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.
