Franklin Bruce Schneider was born July 5, 1933 in Mountain City, TN to Frank and Margaret Schneider. Frank spent most of his childhood years in Valley, NE and graduated from Valley High School in 1952. Frank was the Homecoming King for Valley High in 1951 and was an outstanding athlete in all sports. He achieved the honors of Class C All State Football team in 1951 and was the first athlete from Valley to receive this award. After high school Frank went on to serve in the United States Army where he earned the rank of Corporal. Frank was a hard working man who was employed by Continental Can in Omaha, NE for a number of years and then ran his own construction company for over 20 years in Valley, NE and fiinished up his working career at Coors Brewery in Golden, CO. Frank enjoyed watching sports, playing cards, trapping and fishing but his passion was going to the horse races and being an avid Nebraska Huskers fan. Frank was an active member of the Valley Fire Department from 1957 to 1975 in which he served in various roles including Assistant Fire Chief from 1971 to 1975. He also served as a Master Mason in Victory Lodge #310 A.F. and A.M. of Valley, NE and received his 25 year pinfrom the Masonic Lodge in 2004. Frank met Lynette Alberts in 1982 and they instantly became friends and sweethearts for life. They were married June 5, 1982 in Arvada, CO and spent their time traveling throughout the US and Mexico visiting family, various landmarks and as many horserace tracks that they could find along the way. Frank passed away suddenly at his home in Lakewood, CO on February 24, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents and half-brother, Milton James Shepard from Evandale, PA. Frank is survived by his wife Lynette Schneider; son, Franklin Schneider and daughter Rhonda Buckley and husband Larry of Valley, NE; daughter Vicke Schneider of Austin, TX and step-daughter Brenda Morrison of Lakewood, CO. Frank is also survived by six grandchildren, Kyle Schneider and wife Jen, of Omaha, NE; Ryan Buckley and wife Loretta of Elkhorn, NE; Tara Brokaw and husband Greg of Valley, NE; Christopher Schneider of Omaha, NE; Trevor Morrison and Scott Morrison of Lakewood, CO. Frank is also survived by 5 great grandchildren, Elaina and Evan Buckley; Kenley Schneider; Grant Brokaw and Bishop Karas.
