Fred Austin Clark

Fred Austin Clark, 91, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 26, 2005. He was born in Wilboux, Montana on July 10, 1913 to Jenny and Frank Clark. He moved to Washington when he was 11 years old. He served in the military during World War II. He married Evelyn Bindara on September 3, 1948 and they were married for 54 years. He worked at numerous oyster companies before they started their own business. They owned and operated “The Clark’s Famous Oysters and Clams” for 28 years. They had many loyal customers, both local and abroad. Fred loved to play dominoes with friends and family, work on his building projects, ocean trips with Frank, spend time in the garden and share gardening tips, taking walks, collecting rocks, going out to eat at his favorite spots and just visiting with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Clark, of 54 years; his parents, Jenny and Frank Clark; three sisters, Elsie, Daisy, and Mary; two brothers, Edward and John. He is survived by his stepdaughter, Virginia Fromm, of Prescott Valley, Arizona; stepson, Archie Bindara, of Glennallen, Alaska; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; seventeen great-great grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was a friend to everyone he met, and will be remembered for his sense of humor and his frequent helping hand. And “By Cracky”, he will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
