Fred Craig
July 31st, 1952 - January 7th, 2023
Fred M. Craig, age 70, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at his Pinellas Park, FL home. He was born July 31, 1952, in Newton Hamilton, Pennsylvania, Mifflin County to the late Edward L. Craig, Sr. and Anna Louise Craig.Fred was a 1970 graduate of Mount Union Area High School and later joined the Merchant Marines, where he traveled the world. He was united in marriage to Sandra L. (Lightner) Craig on September 9, 1974 in Kirkland, Ohio at her family home. In 1974 they moved to Florida. Fred started his career in the appliance trade. He was a dedicated business partner at American Appliance for 33 years until his retirement on October 20, 2022. Fred was most happy when spending time with his family. Fred is survived by children, Frederick "Freddy" Craig (Erin), Angela Nguyen (Henry), Sheila Frommell (John), and Pamela Guglietti (David); and three grandchildren, Matyk C., Amelia G., & Ledger C. In addition, Fred is survived by his nine siblings; Dorothy (Victor), Margie (James), Edna "Toots", Edward (Kathy), Patti (Scott), Robert (Holly), Janet (Scott), James (Sue), Gary (Melinda) and so many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. Fred loved his country, and was a true history buff, especially his interest for the Civil War era. He was a whiz with crossword puzzles and with his latest challenge - Wordle. Over the years Fred enjoyed his home away from home at the Suwannee River, where he and Sandy made life-long friends and cherished memories. He also enjoyed trips to his home place in Pennsylvania for hunting and reconnecting with friends. He was and will be forever a true American legend! Fred will always be remembered for his kind spirit, generosity, smile, impersonations, and contagious laugh. He was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, Pap-Pap, brother, uncle, & friend to many! He was well respected by family members, friends, neighbors, coworkers, customers, and acquaintances. Fred will be greatly missed by all who have known him. A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, January 27, 2023 at A Life Tribute Funeral Care, 716 Seminole Blvd, Largo, FL 33770. Please wear your favorite flannel shirt in Fred's honor. Immediately following the service, friends and family are invited for a Celebration of Life that will take place at his son Freddy & Erin's home in Seminole, FL. Please ask the family for the address if you are interested in attending.
