February 12th, 1923 - January 13th, 2011
Woller, Frederick W., 87, of Seminole, Florida, died Thursday, January 13, 2011. He was born in Bronx, NY, and graduated from New York University, NYU. Fred Is an Army Veteran, having served during World War II in the Army Infantry and Signal Corps in the South Pacific and Japan, attaining the rank of sergeant and receiving the Bronze Star. Following the war, he worked with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co as an auditor. In 1955, he became a long time resident of Amsterdam, NY where he completed a long career with the Mohasco Corporation, working in a variety of cooperate positions. Fred was very active in and around the Amsterdam community, serving on the Perth Central School District Board of Education, active with the Boy Scouts of America, and serving as Treasurer of the Sara Jane Sanford Home for Elderly Women. He was a 40 year member of Second Presbyterian Church of Amsterdam where he served as an Elder, Deacon and as Treasurer. Survivors include his wife, Laura Marion Woller; 1 son, Henry W. (Missy) Woller of Delmar, NY; 4 stepdaughters, Diane L. Murray of Seminole, FL, Judith Ann English of Hagaman, NY, Linda L. Felton of Winnemucca, NV, & Susan G. Simser of Deland, FL; 1 stepson, George W. Musolff of Saratoga Springs, NY; and 2 grandchildren, Alicia & Lindsey Woller. A Funeral Service was held in Florida at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 17th at Reese Funeral Home, 6767 Seminole Blvd, Seminole. A memorial service will be held in Amsterdam, NY, at a date to be determined, followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery also in Amsterdam, NY. Memorial donations may be sent to Hospice.
