G. Viola Falk Menefee Georgia Viola Menefee, 91 of Brownsville went home to her Lord on November 6 at Quail Park Memory Care with family at her side. Viola was born to Cyrel A. and Veda (Konkle) Schooling on her parents’ farm near Lancaster. She attended the primary school at Lancaster and graduated from Junction City High School. She married Rawley L. Falk on February 25, 1947 and moved to a farm near Halsey. They raised their three children there. They were together until his passing in June 23, 1985. On August 2, 1990 she married Donald F. Menefee and moved to Brownsville. He passed on March 3, 1993. Viola worked as a school secretary many years at Halsey Grade School, Central Linn High School, and Shedd Elementary School. She was a member of the Halsey Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Linn County Historical Society, and the Junction City Grange for more than 75 years. She volunteered at the Linn County Historical Museum and the Brownsville Library. She was a fifth generation Oregonian and proud of her pioneer heritage. Some of her ancestors came in 1845 on the Lost Wagon Train. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, and her only sister Ora Edmounds in 1981 and neice Ferryl Moore in 2013. She is survived by her children Mike Falk of Junction City, William Falk and Vickie of Halsey, and Louise McLeod and Patrick of Overgaard, AZ and three grandchildren Rachel McLeod of Phoenix, AZ, Cameron McLeod of Overgaard, AZ and Thurman Falk of Bend, OR. A graveside service will be at 11:00 am, Monday November 14 at Alford Cemetery at Harrisburg. Contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
