Gabriel Aiello Jr

Gabriel S. Aiello Jr., 88 of Melbourne, FL, died peacefully on April 12, 2015. He leaves his wife of 40 years Andrea Rollins, and his children, Gabriel S. Aiello III and wife Karin Strom of Columbia, NJ, and Peter Aiello of Orange Park, FL; step children, Sally Dietz (husband Rob) OH, Betsy Arnot (husband Bob) IL, Annie Scully (husband Bob) PA; grandchildren, Sita, Raphael, Laurel, and Nicholas, CA, Christopher, FL, and Jessica, TX; step grandchildren Colin, NYC, Annaliese, OH, Timothy (Lauren), IA, and Sandy, IL, Samantha, NYC, Katie, GA, and Bobby, PA; a sister Sally McCausland GA, and a cousin Angela Zaccardi, NJ. Gabe, formerly of Montclair NJ, was in the commercial real-estate business, but best known as a restaurateur, owner of the Wedgwood Cafeteria and Gabe’s Galley, landmarks in the area. He was a 65 year member of Kiwanis and his lifelong pastimes were salt water fishing and boating. In 1986 he and Andrea moved to Marathon in the Florida Keys, where they resided for 21 years. A member of the Marathon Yacht Club, he served as Fleet Captain for many years leading cruises to the Bahamas, as well as east and west coasts of Florida, visiting many yacht clubs as representative to the Florida Council of Yacht Clubs, and navigating the East Coast twice from the Keys to Maine and back.
