Thomason Funeral Home
Gaetana T. Nash
July 13th, 2024
I'd like the memory of me to be a Happy One.
Gaetana Turco Nash, the spirited, adventurous woman, started life in Enna Sicily on September 29, 1933. At 6 years old, her family, moved to East Africa where she was raised and lived for 20 years.
Her working spirit & smarts landed this beautiful Sicilian woman an office job on the US Army base in Asmara, Africa. There she met the love of her life, who was a sergeant in the US Army special services. Marriage came quick and she was off to the USA to create her legacy as a beloved Mom to Sondra, Wendy & Stephanie, and a dedicated & loving wife to her husband, Les, who preceded her in death in 2021. They had 62 years together!
Her friends called her Tina and she worked hard all her life. She raised her 3 daughters with all the love and support she could give them. Her family meant the world to her and she met everything to the family. There were many moves while Dad was teaching and coaching and she took it all in stride. Once retirement came, they settled into their home in Weiser, Idaho and enjoyed it very much. Every home she lived in had beautiful gardens and lots of wonderful food.
Always a lady, Gaetana, was enjoyed and will be remembered by all for her great sense of humor, her amazing Italian accent that never went away, her fun spirit, her hospitality, her amazing Italian cooking, her intelligence, sensibility, compassion, artistry, expert gardening, and great love for her family. She will be missed immensely by all of us, including her grandchildren Derek, Brianna, Mirazsa, Lucas, Alyvia, Korbin, Jaxton, Leah and Isaac. She was our precious jewel and will be in our hearts forever and always!
Gaetana passed away at home on July 13, 2024, with her daughters by her side.
Services: Visiting reception time at Thomason's Funeral Home in Weiser, Idaho on Thursday, August 1, from 6pm-8pm. Graveside Funeral Service Friday, August 2, Hillcrest Cemetery at 11am.

We Entrusted Gaetana Nash's Care To
Thomason Funeral Home
For more than 100 years, the Thomason Funeral Home has worked to help the Weiser community heal after loss. We help families plan funerals, cremation services, and celebration of life services. Our story began in 1910 when Lloyd Northam opened the doors at the site now occupied by the current Weiser Elk’s Lodge. Since then, the business has had several names, partnerships, and owners. Among them was Dale Thomason, our namesake, who began working at the funeral home in the mid-1940s and purchased the home as a family business to run with his son. At Thomason, we focus on helping your family with personalized care. We do everything we can to provide professional, compassionate support to every family that trusts us with their funeral arrangements. Along with our sister location in Ontario, Oregon, we help Treasure Valley families connect, honor, and remember their loved ones....
